Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will be received by a World Africa Journeys tour guide who will brief you on the 8 Days Primate Tracking Rwanda Wildlife Safari and transfer you to the hotel already booked for you in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay.
Accommodation: Kigali Serena Hotel, Frame Tree Village or Accord Hotel.
Meals: (Dinner).
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
In the morning at 8:00am, you will be picked from the hotel and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Visit the Nyanza palace, Murambi Memorial and Butare Museum enroute. Your lunch will be enroute and continue for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking – Colobus Monkey Tracking.
Have an early Breakfast and go for briefing at the park headquarters. You will be told the dos and don’ts while with the chimps before entering the forest. Enjoy them feeding, playing around while taking observations and photographs. In the afternoon, you may go for colobus monkey tracking where you will encounter other primate species as vervet monkeys, monkeys among others.

Day 4: Canopy and Nature Walks.
After breakfast, you will go for a canopy walk within the forest expecting to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of different bird species such as the Rwenzori Turacos, Hornbills among others. You will also have a self-guided walk after lunch around the nearby environment and the Kamiranzovu waterfalls.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Kivu.
Take breakfast and head to Lake Kivu. Enjoy breathtaking scenery of the Virunga Mountains and the green vegetation enroute. You will have lunch enroute and proceed for either a boat cruise along Lake Kivu or relaxing on the shores.

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Golden Monkey Tracking.
Have breakfast and drive to Volcanoes National Park to catch up with the golden monkey tracking activity. These are the most endangered primate species at Volcanoes National Park. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for entertainment by the Banyarwanda community.

Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Tracking.
You will have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters to be briefed before entering the forest to track the gorillas. The hiking may take about 1-8 hours depending on the movement of the gentle giants. A maximum time of one hour is given for photography, observation, and enjoying them feeding or playing around.

Day 8: Return to Kigali City – Departure.
Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Kigali reaching early for a for a city tour in Kigali where you will visit Nyamata church, local markets, Genocide Museum among others. Later, proceed to the airport to catch up with your scheduled flight back home.
